The air is full of instant downloads of creativity, and
there are a huge number of professionally truly brilliantly
creative people - even I have my moments, but
rarely does something stick in my memory. For my first
Marmite on Toast post I’m highlighting four
pieces of creative work which have stayed with me.
TESCO Online Shopping
A beautifully simply image of seasonal fruit or vegetables.
Next to the image is the copyline Freshly Clicked.
TATLER Front Cover
To mark The Queen’s 90th birthday Tatler cleverly
placed, in between the E and R of the logo, a roman numeral
number two to make Her Majesty’s cypher E II R.
BRITISH VOGUE Fashion Feature Headline
In a story about the life and work of the couturier Hardy
Amies, British Vogue commissioned a portrait of Amies in his
blooming garden. In the magazine the headline to accompany
the feature and the image was The Hardy Perennial.
Lastly, and very appropriate for this first
Marmite on Toast post is
MARMITE Commemorative Label
To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee
the brand removed from their iconic label the
name Marmite and replaced it with Ma’amite.
All four of these pieces of creativity
I admire for their cleverly sublime simplicity.
For my next post I will be featuring one of my collaborators.
